I've been having this idea to start a podcast, and part of the challenge for me is that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. And so it's been going on for months and months, and months and months. I've been thinking about it a long time. So when I came across this idea to use voice notes as a bit of a micro podcast, just very spontaneous, unedited, I thought, that's interesting. And I gave it a thought over a couple of days here. And I've come to the conclusion, obviously, if you're listening to this, that this is a good way to get into it again.
Now, I did have a podcast a while back, years ago, and it was pretty good. I was pretty happy with it, but I stopped doing it because it wasn't going in the direction that I thought I should be going. And now, with having had that experience, I want to make sure that I can do what I plan to do. Having said that, I understand, and I know this deep down, it's just that I can't apply it. I know that I need to just get started and find the message itself as I'm recording episodes. That is what this is about. I'm just going to start recording a few things and make it a daily habit, the best I can.
And I want to explore self-control, exercise, personal development, just like it says in my description. Because to my mind, those three things are virtuously synonymous. If you're exercising your self-control, then you are better able to direct your life. If you're exercising, and here I'm talking about physical exercise, you've got to practice, you work out, however it is, you know, you're doing bodyweight exercises, you're working out in the gym, you're lifting weights, you're doing yoga, you're climbing mountains, whatever it happens to be, that, as a lifestyle, shows that you have self-control.
And then personal development, well, that's, to my mind, that's what we're trying to do. That's what everyone is trying to do. We're trying to develop ourselves. And I have an understanding of the self that's a little bit different. I'm going to explore that another time. But for now, just getting this out, getting this published, this is going to be the first episode. You know, I'm thinking of this as a, again, a micro-podcast. And if you're along for the ride, welcome. If I'm just talking to myself, that's all right too. And like I said, this is just me getting into the process of recording and not worrying about if anybody cares or that it's good. So that's it. Episode one, done.
